Kudo’s to Windstream Yellow Pages
Congrats to Windstream Yellow Pages for working with the Lincoln Nebraska Parks and Recreation Department, the local Boy Scouts of America and specialty recycler, Recycling Enterprises of Nebraska, Inc. have lead the community’s “Think Yellow, Go Green” effort by recycling 1,200 outdated directories, the equivalent of 6,000 pounds — three tons of outdated directories (link).
Yellow Pages publishers are part of the communities they live and work in also. These efforts are just one example of their environment concerns and efforts to be just as green as other businesses.

Want to be more efficient? Use the Print Yellow Pages
Experts in Oklahoma are telling state lawmakers that the state could improve its buying practices and deliver more services efficiently by just turning to the print Yellow Pages,
Leonard Gilroy, director of government reform at the Reason Foundation, told state lawmakers last week that all state services but law enforcement could be contracted out to private companies.
“Get government out of the business of business — that’s what private businesses do,” he said.
Gilroy suggests that if a service is listed in the Yellow Pages, then the state should consider using it. Makes a lot of sense.
